RE: DS, DS lite,DSi thread
I got Stafox Command for my DSi ages ago in Tescos for £4. I switched it on yesterday, then after an hour, switched it back off!!! Maybe I'll go back for it later.
Best game on my DSi so far? Strangely I think I'd say Dark Void Zero, but only because it was supposed to be released sometime in the late 80's or early 90's (I think), and was a nice retro change to the games I'd been playing that month. |

RE: DS, DS lite,DSi thread
Having just got back from a holiday, my DS was the only place to get my gaming high from. This meant I went out and bought GTA Chinatown Wars beforehand, having played the three Mario games I have completely to death.
I must admit, I really enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The shift back to the top down point of view was not as disorientating as I feared it might be, and the game is genuinely fun. I especially enjoy the drug dealing mini game, which is ridiculously lucrative when you get the hang of it, presenting real risk versus reward opportunities. Good fun. Other than that I haven't found much else interesting on Nintendo's handheld. I'm a big Zelda fan, but neither of the DS offerings have appealed to me, possibly down to the sole stylus control and emphasis on methods of transport that have had the fun bled from them by more extreme vehicles, such as bicycles. |

RE: DS, DS lite,DSi thread
Truley, there isn't much on the DSiWare offerings STILL which is the biggest frustration I have with the DSi. I bought it because I thought the DSiWare would be a great place for bite sized bits of gaming I could take to work with me, but instead it's a barren wasteland of clocks, diarys, and bits of segmented other games (Electroplankton has been cut into individual bits and sold off for rediculous ammounts for example) which is a proper let down. Dark Void Zero is the only thing on there I'd recomend.
As for GTA China, I had a hard time deciding which platform to get it for. I knew the iPhone would be a lesser version of the PSP and DS iterations but Luke made the decision for me and put the PSP one my way! *Thanks again Luke* It's not a bad little game, and I must say the dealing aspect of it became pretty addictive after a while. Never finished it though. As for the two Zeldas on DS, they're pretty good! I'd say the Phantom Hourglass is better than Spirit Tracks though so if you find either of them cheap enough that you'd might as well buy one, go for Hourglass. I would say the controls are really intuative for the DS, some games (a bit like Starfox) I found quite a fiddle using the stylus but Zelda pulls it off well, so don't be afraid of it for control reasons. Also, there is a lot of interaction required with the buttons too, so it's not all pen-pushing! Some of the puzzles in Hourglass are also really clever, bound to put a smile on your face. |
