Dead Rising 2 Case 0
Just completed it today and it was hella fun! Wise investment of 400 MS points, says I. Now I gotta go lay some money on the real thing. Any of you get to play it yet? Like or hated?

Also did a review of it for my site Gamesmeetmetal.com. It's the first game review I've done in awhile after a bit of a dry spot.

It does sound interesting, especially from your review. I want my own drill bucket!

I guess my main gripe with this is that Capcom are making you pay for a demo. How long is it? I was saving my 1200 remaining points for Sonic Adventure, but now that's been announced as 800 points, I have 400 points to play about with. I know you've already recommended it, but is it really better than a typical free demo?

I'd say it's better than a demo, as it has it's own plot and setting and not just a section ripped out of the main game. As far as length, I got about 7 hours out of it, but I was taking my sweet time and enjoying it. I've read anywhere it can be from 3-10 hours, depending how you play.

If you have access to it, EGMi just did a feature story about it. It's a good read if you're still undecided.

I enjoyed it, you certainly get a lot for the 400 points, more than some games priced at 800+. It was a bit easy though, first play through I got all survivors rescued and Ending A. Still got more playthroughs out of it achievement hunting and just generally mucking around though.

The survivor AI is better, at least in a manner of speaking. As far as I can tell zombies leave them alone more and they make a much better effort of keeping up with you. They don't all need to be right next to a door to come through it with you now either which is a great addition.

Only thing I really had an issue with was that it was pitched as bridging the gap between DR1 and DR2 and it only does that in so far as being released between them. There is no direct link to DR1 at all and is quite lazy in setting up already established plot points for DR2.

I caved in and bought it. I was really enjoying this until it ended. I guess I expected a bit more than what I got, but you can't really complain for 400 points. I finished with ending A but didn't save all (or that many) survivors, so there are more play throughs left in it I guess.

I'm just dissapointed that I'm not creative enough when it came to weapons. I didn't innovate anything. I made the paddle saw, baseball bat con nails, drill bucket (lol) and some drink mixes that made me violently ill. Basically all stuff that I've seen in videos or read here. The broadsword was fun though. Need to go through and try more.

As a paid for demo however I would have still liked a bit more. I didn't really appreciate the time limit, but I suppose it does move the game along. I'm going to be annoyed if the Zombrex dosing is going to form a major element in the full game, as I don't like being forced through progression by a trickling sand timer.
