First game you ever played?
I thought this would be an interesting discussion. What was the first game you ever played (or remember playing)?
I, myself am not entirely certain exactly what my first game was, seeing as I started gaming at the wee age of 3; but my first memories of gaming are of playing two Commodore Amiga games - Push Over and Puggsy. Both were great fun to play, but also very difficult, and I don't think I ever managed to finish either game. ![]() It got a lot harder than this, believe me. If I remember correctly it had 10 different types of dominos, distinguishable by their different patterns, each having a different effect when pushed over. This video certainly brings back the memories. I always used to play through the 5 'junior' levels, as I found the main story too difficult after about 6 or 7 levels. I lost count of how many times I played through the junior missions just so I could light a giant candle at the end of the 5th mission. I loved that candle. ![]()

RE: First game you ever played?
First game I ever played - that I remember, at least - was Ninja Turtles on the NES. Though thanks to hilariously over the top censorship, it was actually 'Hero Turtles' in the UK.
I remember my dad walking with me from the bus stop after school. He told me that he'd bought me a surprise. I was thinking - hoping - it was a rabbit; but it was a NES with TMNT. I've never looked back, though. Slightly off topic: I once spilled coffee over my copy of Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!! and after putting it back in my NES, everything was in Spanish.
I'm not a little absent minded; my little mind is absent.

RE: First game you ever played?
I'm not sure what my first game was but the furthest back I remember was in one of my parents favorite pubs! It was a tabletop Space Invaders arcade cabinet, a 10 pence piece was about the size of my fist and coca-cola still came in glass bottles! I remember it being VERY hard but you could do two player and I was better than my dad even then (though his hand-eye coordination was probably umm, affected!). I didn't see a home computer for another 3 years.
Said computer came in the shape of Atari Pong which was so frikkin mind-blowing playing on a telly AT HOME, IN YOUR HOUSE, ON THE SOFA that my dad stayed up all night playing it. |
