Took my Son to a games shop for a treat for being a good lad to buy a game for his PS2. While I was there I treated myself to a cheapo game also.

The game in question is Heavenly Sword, I've been umming and ahhing about getting it for months. Anyways, I can say it's a great game and has dated quite well considering it was a launch title. It's not bad for a button masher action romp.
If you're a fan of God of War and the like i'm sure you'll enjoy this little gem. 8/10

I picked up Heavenly Sword ages ago for a fiver, I'd say button mashing will bring you trouble though. If you watch closely, you'll find some nice long decent combos that can take out loads of guys at once, this is handy for the end level. I'll not say any more incase I spoil it for you.

Which game did your son pick?

I tried to convince to choose something else, I warned him that it's a hard game but he was adamant he wanted it and I know it's not a bad game (will not let him buy/choose any old cack)informed parent here :o)

The original Splinter Cell. He loves the MGS games so thought what the hell. Twas only a fiver also.

I can't say I've ever played Splinter Cell, I loved MGS when it appeared on the PS1 & 2 though. I stopped playing MGS4 once I got up to Vamp and had to stick him with a syringe (couldn't do it).

It's good to see an informed parent getting his kid into gaming though. I'm not gonna let my child buy/play junk either, but then, when they're really young then they're into kiddy rubbish anyways eh?

Yeah He's wanted to buy Franchised cack by Disney and the like but I won't let him, although that Toy Story 3 game is supposed to be really good. Getting him a PS3 for Christmas Shhhhhh, just between you and me

Mafia II demo is up on the US store if anyones interested.

I've downloaded the Mafia demo (last week) but not had time to play it yet, is it looking good?

I keep meaning to download the Mafia II demo, but haven't gotten round to it yet. From what I've seen though it does look good. I have high hopes for it as I loved the first game on the PC.

Can't say I bothered with it on PC the first time around (umm, coz I didn't HAVE a PC) but I've seen a lot of footage for this sequel and it does look good. Looks like I'll be watching Donnie Brasco, Heat, The Godfather, Goodfellas and a whole bunch of other stuff to hype myself up for when this comes out!
