So what music do people like here?

Trying to break some more of the virginity on this forum I thought I'd start this thread. What do we all listen to? Personally, I quite like 80s metal, and am quite the Iron Maiden fan. No questions, they are awesome. They're releasing a new album in August as well which I'm really looking forward to. They released one of the new songs from this album for free quite recently which is below if anyone is interested.

This is a really cool song too, I only heard it cos it's on the CD that comes with the special edition of GTAIV. Unfortunately, so far as I can tell, absolutely everything else The Rapture have recorded is completely shit.

The list of music I like is so schizophrenic I won't even start to list my favs but if you took every genre (not band) and asked me if I had a type of song that fits it on my iPhone, I could probably say "Yes".

Oh and Luke, I belive 'No Sex For Ben' IS the only decent song they've done by the way.

Same here Krazyface. I like everything from Blues,Jazz,Metal,Hip-Hop,Classical,Folk,Pop. The list goes on and on.

The only music I dislike (hate with passion) is kiddy pop and reality show cack.

Blues eh? You ever heard of Robert Cray? If not you should seek him out! Sometimes even the simplest thing can make me like an artist, for instance, the singer from Frou Frou has a nice, whispery, brake-y voice I love. Pee-wee's another one I like for her little vocals.

I feel a bit dirty putting this :o( but I saw Tom Jones on Jonathan Woss's penultimate show singing a song of his new album and it was outstanding. If you didn't see it you might still be able to catch it on the iPlayer, if you're interested that is ;o)

Also loving Seasick Steve, the guy's a genius. A little shout out for Eli Paperboy Reed also, very 70's

Lucky you! My mum pushed Chris Rea and Runrig down my lug-holes while I grew up! There's no shame in enjoying a bit of Tom Jones, he made an album with a bunch of different artist back in the 90's (I think) and did some great duets with a whole bunch of different artist, I think The Steriophonics were one of them. I'm sure it was called 'Tom Jones, Reloaded' but I'm not sure.

I gave up worrying what people thought of my taste in music years ago. Put it this way, one of my playlists has Rage Against The Machine next to Dusty Springfeild, then it goes on to Bob Marley followed by some Groove Armada. Like I said, skitzo!!!

I, like KrazyFace, am a bit all over the place when it comes to music. It's a blend of the very basic, the very obscure the "guilty pleasures" and all the crap in between.

I love Kent, Mew, Starship Amazing, Feeder, Laakso, Hello Saferide, The Raveonettes, El Perro Del Mar, Barenaked Ladies, Foals, The Radio Dept., Gerry Rafferty, Queen, Marit Bergman, Regina Spektor, The Grammar Club, Jonathan Coulton, Biffy Clyro,, Therapy? and so on and so forth.
