What game did you love, that everyone else hated?

Just got this idea from the thread below. I really enjoyed playing A Boy and His Blob on the NES way back, but got seriously laughed at when my mates found out.

Apparently, wandering around an empty world with a weird shape shifting blob is dull, who knew!!!!

Shadow of the Beast 2 on the Amiga.
It was hated by everyone but I loved it.

On the flipside there's a few games I just cannot get into that everyone raves about, mainly RPG's. The Final Fantasy series, Oblivion, Fallout 3. I've never ever seen the appeal in the Zelda games either.

My loss I guess.

Well going off the general review scores versus mine, it'd have to be APB, which I really enjoyed and saw masses of potential in, but was generally panned by critics.

Other than that I rather liked Alpha Protocol, the fighting is rubbish, but some of the RPG aspects in there are very well done and forward-thinking. I'll give a quick shout-out to Bloodbowl as well, it's not the best port imaginable of the game and is pretty unfriendly to new players, but there's still a highly entertaining tactical ultra-violent bloodsport in there that deserves to be played.

I'm going to say Too Human. Bought it late last year when I found it in Gamestation selling for just £4. I knew it hadn't been a particularly well recieved game, but I figured for £4 I couldn't really go wrong. The fighting did get rather repetitive and the unskippable death scene was annoying (especially when fighting bosses), but I really enjoyed the game's plot.

Another game is The Settlers on the Amiga. None of my friends could see where the fun was in spending 20+ hours building up a settlement, then using your army to crush all the opposing settlements.

I quite liked Supreme Commander 2, despite it getting a fairly bad wrap from the series' fans. It's different from the first yeah, but it still has plenty of big stompy robots and ridiculous tanks. What's not to like?

Actually, I have a proper entry. Command & Conquer Renegade. I honestly think it was the greatest multiplayer game ever created and I would actually kill a man to have a game that had similar characteristics in its online gameplay.

Another one I got laughed at for likeing was Yoshi's Story on the N64. I just thought it was a really beautiful looking game, and it oozed cuteness and charm. Really, I'd rather stomp on cute stuff with a muddy boot, but I just couldn't resist Yoshi's Story.

well Enchanted Arms---in fact its one those games where its passed by many and played by a few. When i found it, i was curious, i tried, and i never looked back, and now its one of my favorites, but its not lost odyssey. Enchanted Arms -_-

God Hand! That was awesome! I absolutely loved it! I knew while I was playing it that loads of people would say it was shit but it was a blast, proper fun like you don't get much in vid games no more - mindless punching and wicked fist upgrades, what's not to like?
